Meet Fiona Powell
Fiona Powell, ‘chiefette’ of Social Media Think, is a social media maven, blogger, an award winning magazine business editor and publisher, an international speaker, and an educator and businesswoman.
Fiona is also the founder of online community entrepreneurette and blog network flokka, - both for women in business. She was founder and past editor/publisher of the award winning Her Business magazine and has been publishing magazines for over a decade and a half.
With a background in magazine publishing and editing, entrepreneurship and business networks, Fiona’s interest moved to online communities and blogging and what was then called web 2.0; social media.
Over the past couple of years she has worked with a variety of companies implementing, managing and measuring their social media programmes. She has presented numerous popular workshops and sessions on social media to groups, networks and companies. Fiona has trained and mentored teams and individual business owners on all aspects of social media and blogging.
Fiona is a certified inbound marketing professional with honours distinction (98%) (recognising her proficiency in social media, blogging, lead conversion, lead nurturing, and closed-loop analysis).
Fiona divides her time between Auckland and a small island in the Hauraki Gulf in New Zealand with her partner and West Highland Terrier Georgie. She mentors a young woman through the YWCA Future Leaders Programme and is currently studying part-time for a Diploma in Digital Film. Fiona enjoys yoga, ceroc dancing, films, great coffee and wine – and blogging.

Meet Vicky Powell
In case you’re wondering, yes Fiona and Vicky are sisters (and no, we don’t fight). Vicky has many years experience in designing websites, starting back in 1998 when she managed a site for a non-profit organisation raising money for marine mammal research. Back in the day, when websites were coded from scratch!
Vicky has also had six years experience working with an independent financial publisher as Website Manager. This role involved managing their group of three major websites and a handful of smaller sites; tasks included undertaking major site revamps and search engine optimisation.
Vicky is also a certified inbound marketing professional with a passion for helping small businesses get an online presence.
When not working she enjoys time with her partner and daughter (Little Miss Seven – going on 12) and trying to get the hang of investing (you can read her sharemarket investment blog here). Once upon a time she spent a lot of time in the water as a scuba instructor, but not so much anymore.
